Behind every weave, a livelihood.
Bengalensis began in April 2019, after one of us travelled with government craft projects and sat with scores of artisans across India — learning their looms, their stories and their way of life. What started as wonder became a promise.
Today we are a small torch-bearer for the makers we met: a research-led platform for pieces built by hand, with traditional skills and techniques — never mass-made.
